Links Getting Reality Check
As I said earlier, if the links page your link is actually placed on doesn't have a Google PageRank of at least 4 (on a scale of 0 to 10), it won't show up on Google. Plus you'll need lots more links to get a PR boost.That's a problem. Because in order to determine the quality of the link page where the link back to your site will be placed, you have to go to the actual page and take a look at the overall quality of the page and check it's Google PageRank.
Here's two common problems you'll find when you do.
Little Known Links Getting Tip: Quite often the main link page of a potential link partner might have decent PageRank. However, that's only the first page. What happens is any new links end up on another page. One that doesn't have good PR. Leaving new links like yours on the short end of the PR stick.That's one reason why I say no software program can be created to determine this. You have to study your potential link partner's site yourself. Or have someone do it for you. (Which is the whole idea behind the High PR Link Club.)
Another Little Known Links Getting Tip: Then too a lot of link directories are what I call "categorized". You find that the main link directory page has the good PR. My site is newer and has low PageRank.
That is an outstanding question. First of all, most webmasters aren't even aware of how important PageRank is, so most will link back to you regardless of what yours is. However, for those that do take it into account, there are lots of simple things you can do and I cover that issue extensively in the Club.QUESTION: Have all the sites that are listed in the Club agreed to do link exchanges with your members?
No. The listings in the Club are simply a directory of public web sites and the info on the site as it relates to their link exchange.QUESTION: John, won't the sites in your directory get swamped with reciprocal link requests and make the Club ineffective?
There is no agreement between the High PR Link Club and the sites in the directory anymore than sites listed in a search engine have an agreement with the search engine. The directory is for information purposes only.
But remember, these sites are looking for link partners. I'm just making it easier for my members to find them.
Even better, when you consider on a good day I might find just five or six suitable websites an hour - I hope you can see what a dramatic time saver this directory with over 400 potential linking partners is.
No, for three reasons:QUESTION: Is it possible that my site might get penalized by Google if I join?
1) There are so many different categories of links.
2) The membership is strictly limited. As soon as I feel we are even getting close to a maximum amount of members I am going to close the doors.
3) At least 40 new potential linking partners are added each month. Some months I've added as many as 75!
I am fully aware that Google often penalizes sites for taking part in various "shady" linking schemes. However, there is no possibility of that with our club. And those are the types of underhanded schemes Google has a problem with.QUESTION: If you know so much about pagerank, why is the PR of this page so low?
Secondly, not that it would even matter, but neither Google or anyone else has any way of knowing who belongs to our club.
This a private club and all members' information is kept strictly confidential. Besides, Google does not have any problem with sites exchanging links with each other as long as it is done to improve the site and make it more worthwhile for people to visit.
As you know you can accumulate PR one of two ways. Either from external links or internally generated by other pages on the site.Still, 'bout now unless I miss my guess you’re probably thinking,
• This is a one page web site. So there’s no internal PR generated.
• Nor would I bother to try to get links for a one page site.
Using the PR of this page as any kind of gauge of the effectiveness of this directory is about as crazy as expecting Google to be ranked number one for the term "search engines".
Besides this site isn’t marketed using search engines. And I honestly suspect no matter how high I built the PR for this page, it would still be insufficient for some.
